Its most distinctive structure is Ortahisar Castle, which is a natural rock formation with a height of 86 meters and was used as a strategic castle in the Roman period and later for accommodation. • Mustafapasa Ancient Greek Village
  
  Our current stop is Mustafapaşa, an old village known as Sinasos, where Turks and Greeks lived side by side until 1924 and where old Greek stone houses can still be seen. The Greeks left the village with the population exchange agreed in the Treaty of Lausanne in 1923. Each and every part of the 700 stone mansions they left behind adds a different atmosphere to Mustafapaşa. It is still possible to walk to some of the buildings with original paintings on their walls, and the town is home to the remains of the largest modern churches in the area.
• Keslik Monastery
  
  Located in an idyllic green valley, this monastic complex is one of the early Christian structures built of volcanic tuff stone. The monastery is a whole consisting of two separate churches, the Holy Spring, a dining hall, a meeting hall and a winery, dedicated to the archangel Michael (Arkhangelos) and St. Sefans, who is considered the first martyr of the Christian world. The Archangel Church is one of the few cave churches that were used by the local population until the twentieth century.
• Taskinpasa Madrasa
  
  Taşkınpaşa takes its name from the Turkish philosopher Taşhun, who taught at the local Madrasa, which is now in ruins. The madrasa building and the mosques and tombs nearby are among the most beautiful examples of Seljuk architecture in the district. The village houses were built on the traditional plan with barns on the ground floor to keep the upper rooms warm.

  Sobesos, once a wealthy Roman-Byzantine city, is a newly discovered archaeological site and excavations are ongoing. Church ruins, tombs, baths and Roman mosaics were unearthed.

The Soğanlı valley, which has a very different geographical structure, is famous for its churches from the Roman period as a very old settlement area. The most famous of these churches are; St. Barbara (Tahtalı), Karabaş, Domed and Yılanlı churches. Handmade Soğanlı dolls, each more beautiful than the other, with their colorful clothes and beads, are also very popular.

  Mazi Underground City, the people of Kaymaklı (Greek Enegup) built their houses around 100 tunnels of the underground city. Residents continue to use the most convenient places in the tunnels, such as cellars, warehouses and barns, which they access from their courtyards. Mazi underground city has low, narrow and sloping passages. The underground city consists of 8 floors underground, and today only 4 of them are open to the public.
